Continuum is a Canadian production of Showcase, a division of Shaw Media. SyFy then decides whether to pay Showcase for the right to air episodes in the US.

It’s up to Showcase to decide whether to renew Continuum or not.

If the series is renewed by Showcase, SyFy would very probably air them in the US. If the series is canceled by Showcase, SyFy has already said that they can’t afford to pick up the production costs.
