No Damon should investigate because he actually saw his mother first and plus Damon doesn’t want to hurt Stefan’s feelings about his mother not being dead after years and years of mourning her, and the only reason why Stefan and Elena are together is to help Caroline who shut of her emotions due to her mother dying they are just trying to help her move on in her life.

I mostly love Stephan and Elena’s bond. I live the way Damon and Bonny love each other and never got rid of each other. They love each other very much. I am personly a team Stephan kind of girl.
