Power Season 4 to Return in June

Finally, we have season 4 premiere date!

Starz has announced that Sunday, June 25 will be the day of season four’s debut. At 9 PM you will be able to see it on Starz, and it will be available on the Starz app and On Demand starting 12,01 am.

So, why all the fuss about the season premiere?

“Power” is a drama that shows the glamorous lifestyles of wealthy and the infamous in Manhattan, but also the underworld of the international drug trade.

This show follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick), who is a drug kingpin and a nightclub impresario living a double life. Next to him are Joseph Sikora as his brother-in-arms in the drug trade, Tommy Egan, Naturi Naughton as James’ loyal and fierce spouse, Tasha St. Patrick.

At the very beginning of the show, it seems that this guy has it all – he is the owner of a successful nightclub in Manhattan, he’s married to a gorgeous woman, and they live in a wonderful penthouse. He has power, he has money, but, he also has a secret – he doubles as a drug kingpin to the rich and influential of New York, and his nightclub is just a way to launder money. We see Ghost trying to go legitimate, but his sidekick will do anything to keep the drug cash flow unobstructed.

An unexpected hit

The third season of this show was the STARZ Original all-time most watched season. It was also the second-highest rated series on all of premium pay television in 2016, as it drew a record of 8 million multiplatform viewers per each episode.

Teasers and spoilers ahead

In season 4 we will see his search for redemption. Season 4 consists of 10 episodes and it picks up on the heels of the protagonists extremely publicized arrest by his ex, Angela Valdes Assistant U.S. Attorney (played by Lela Loren), for the murder of an FBI agent, a murder James did not commit.

“You don’t really think I did this,” Ghost states in the short teaser, pleading to Angie as she walks by him in court.

“You’re right, Jamie,” she replies coldly. “I know you did it.”

Ghost can’t run away from his past choices, or enemies that will pile up in this season threatening his freedom and his family’s safety on every corner. So, he fights for redemption, facing the media, the Feds, making new allies, and meeting old foes. The biggest obstacle for our protagonist remains his inner struggle between the man he really is and the man he desires to become.

In the teaser trailer, we saw that Tasha was trying to reach Ghost, and he asked someone from the prison to let him pick up the phone since he already has nine missed calls. As she received no reply, Tasha sent him a message asking where he is. So, we are wondering, is something wrong going to happen to Ghost inside the prison?

According to rumors, there’s a chance that Ghost will find his way out of jail, thanks to the fact that Mike Sandoval’s (Mike Fumero) secret might be spilled. We all know that Mike is the one who killed the FBI agent. Mike knows perfectly how to play the system and keep his transgressions a secret, but there’s a chance that he will finally get caught in season 4.

PowerCast and crew

We learned that Larenz Tate, Charlie Murphy and “Hamilton” star Brandon Victor Dixon will be joining the cast of this hit drama.

Tate will play a city councilman who crosses paths with Ghost. How exactly will the show use this actor is still under wraps, so we will all have to tune in to find out.

Also, Curtis Jackson, better known as “50 Cent” teased new cast members by dropping a bombshell before swiftly deleting the Instagram post. But nothing can escape the fans who captured the post in which he stated that Tommy has a twin brother from whom he was separated at birth and that this brother might appear on Season 4.

And, it seems that we will be seeing more of Tasha. Naturi Naughton, who plays Ghost’s wife in “Power” said a bit about what fans can expect from her character in the upcoming season “I think once Tasha figures out that Ghost has been arrested, she goes into protect mode. She goes into: How do I fix this? I think because she’s the mother of their kids, she’s just all about, like, forget about being angry, let’s just figure out how do get you out. That’s what makes her such a ride or die. She’s always looking out for him. Even though Ghost is doing him, she protects him.”

Power is created by Courtney A. Kemp, who also serves as the showrunner and executive producer. On the list of executive producers, you will see Mark Canton, Randall Emmett, Garry Lennon and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
