‘Mortal Kombat X’ Likely to Get 4 More DLCs, Hints Series Creator Ed Boon

The popular fighting video game “Mortal Kombat X” has just received the character Tremor on July 28 to complete its first character DLC called ‘Kombat Pack 1’ since the game was officially released on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and the PC in April.

Tremor completes the four-character ‘Kombat Pack 1’ that also featured Jason Voorhees, Tanya and the Predator.

While there have been reports that a second character DLC pack is forthcoming featuring another set of four characters, series creator Ed Boon just hinted on social media that it will not just be new characters that will be forthcoming in the fighting video game.

According to a report by Crossmap, in addition to the expected ‘Kombat Pack 2,’ three more DLCs are expected to come to the game including “Jurassic Kombat,” “Story Pack,” and “Spawn.”

“Kombat Pack 2,” “Spawn,” and “Jurassic Kombat” are likely to be character DLCs but the “Story Pack” is likely an expansion pack that shall contain a new gameplay mode or at least a new story mode to the fighting video game.

Cool Tremor skins

Ed Boon has also made a tease on his Twitter the ‘Kombat Pack 2’ DLC and the cool classic Tremor skin for the PC version of “Mortal Kombat X,” notes Design & Trend.

His latest post on social media is an obvious attempt to toy with the emotions of the fans and gamers of “Mortal Kombat X.”

There have been rumors that the second DLC character pack, the ‘Kombat Pack 2’ shall also add more character skins to the title’s expansive roster.

While the classic Tremor skin is not an indication of future additions to “Mortal Kombat X,” game developer NetherRealm Studios says that the community PC mods have inspired them to do more in the future additions of the game.

The rumors going around indicate that the four-character ‘Kombat Pack 2’ shall be made up of Baraka, Sindel, Rain, and Meat. There are also speculations that Spawn might be the first character to be released for the second character DLC pack for “Mortal Kombat X.” The only time it can be known is when NetherRealm finally release the first character for ‘Kombat Pack 2.’

More fighting characters coming

NetherRealm was able to feature many of Tremor’s fighting moves and skills during the broadcast and has fans and gamers of “Mortal Kombat X” really excited for the latest playable character to come to the game.

Towards the latter part of the broadcast, NetherRealm started referring to the Kombat Pack as Kombat Pack 1, indicating that there is a Kombat Pack 2, and so on and so forth and can go on for more than four or five packs.

Initial reports said that Kombat Pack 2 may feature the characters Baraka, Sindel, Meat and Rain. However there may be other characters that could come in subsequent Kombat Packs including Fujin, Bo Rai Cho, Stryker and Kabal, who only appeared in the main story’s cinematics.

In the event that the game developer did release additional DLC characters beyond the initial four in the Kombat Pack 1, it would not be the first time. NetherRealm also had a special pack that granted discounted access to its first four DLC characters. And that happened with its DC comics fighting game titled “Injustice: Gods Among Us.”

So as to ensure that the “Mortal Kombat X” mobile game version is not left behind, the developer is planning roll out an update soon that shall feature new character variants and new challenges too.
