Apple is on the verge again of ushering something for its iPhone line and it is the American tech giant’s way of capitalizing on technological advances and utilize it as a great feature of its globally revered smartphone line.
Accordingly, Apple will be launching its latest iPhone which would be quite different from its predecessors.
Reports have it that for Apple’s 10th Anniversary of the iPhone this year, it would be releasing the iPhone 8, which shall be rebranded according to rumors as iPhone X. Apple sources say that the company is about to make a ground-breaking development for its upcoming iPhone.
Accordingly, Apple plans to set the bar to make the iPhone 8 the ultimate device by having no physical home button at all, making it the first ever iPhone to feature such in its history since it broke ground in the market in 2007.
Previous reports have been saying that Apple has been working to remove the physical home button by designing it underneath the display surface. This means that it will become a touch-sensitive button rather than the usual pressing of a finger.
Aside from the absence of the home button, Apple also plans to discard other physical buttons such as volume, mute, and the power switch on the iPhone 8 or the iPhone X.
There are also reports saying that come September, Apple will be ushering both the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus line as well as the iPhone 8 or iPhone X but critics are saying that it would be too unorthodox for Apple to do just that.
According to some pricing rumors, the iPhone 8 is speculated to have a price of over $1,000, which would make it far more expensive than the $599 price of the Apple iPhone 7 and the $799 of the iPhone 7 Plus.
The expensive pricing is apparently meant to cover for the major overhaul design of the iPhone 8 working with Lumentum on creating 3D-sensing technology design, which could be used for user’s face authentication on the smartphone.
The new iPhone model is also expected to have a bigger battery than the current the ones found on the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, which makes the rumors suspect since there are also reports saying that the iPhone 8 shall have a 5.8-inch screen size.
Apple introduced the iPhone 7 in September last year sporting an IPS LCD display. The same is true for the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 shall reportedly have a curved with o bezel OLED screen. Sources say the company is tying up with the available OLED display manufacturers, which also includes Samsung among the few technological companies who make such feature display.
The iPhone 8 will likely have a stainless steel outline in contrast with the aluminum design of the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.
As cited by KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, who is also best known as the ‘best Apple devices analyst,’ Apple had already figured out the need to add a new graphite layer for iPhone 8. This means that a 3D touch-pressure sensitive sensor behind the screen to prevent excessive heat during charging.
Kuo also added that the glass design will also help reduce the heat compared to other iPhone devices with the current aluminum design for the iPhones.
What could go more interesting in this generation’s smartphone models is Apple’s plan to launch the iPhone 8’s wireless charging capability, which is somehow similar to Samsung’s offer for its flagship smartphones.
The iPhone 7 Plus takes 3 hours and 30 minutes to fully charge, which is a bit faster compared to other phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the Google Pixel XL.
